Robert Gordo, originally from Queens, New York, is a formally trained chef who graduated from Johnson and Wales University College of Culinary Arts in 1997. As a teenager, he discovered his passion for the industry while working at his parent’s deli in Brooklyn, NY.
Since then, his culinary vision has evolved into providing healthier lifestyles. Also, the constant reminder of diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol in his family fueled him to transform the foods he grew up eating into healthier alternatives.He decided that his mission was to find ways to still enjoy the meals from his childhood, without compromising the taste. That is the basic concept behind his restaurant Off the Grille (OTG), founded in 1999, in Miami. After all, the tag line reads: Real Chef, Good Food, Healthy Choices.
